Jerry "Jaws" A. Fischer, age 75, passed away on Tuesday, April 26, 2016. He was born on September 19, 1940, to the late Donald Fischer and Hazel Larson. On October 23, 1963, he married Patricia Meyer in Neenah, and after over 50 years of marriage, she passed away on March 31, 2014. Jerry was employed at Menasha Utilities. He loved being outdoors, especially taking motorcycle rides with his brother, Ray, long walks around the neighborhood with his dog, Tucker, hunting, and woodcutting.Jerry is survived by his children, Toni (Kim) Hangartner, Tammy (Paul) Phillips, Troy Fischer, and Travis (Sam) Fischer; grandchildren, Shawn Fischer, Ryan and Nick Phillips, Leigha Fischer, Hayden and Avery Fischer; a great-grandson, Mason Fischer; brothers Kenny (Marge) Fischer, Dan (Brenda) Larson, Ray Fischer and Daryl Uhlenbrauck; a sister, Cindy (John) Casperson; special cousin, Kay Fleming, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; his parents; and his sister Diane Sturn.A memorial service for Jerry will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 30, 2016, at Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Menasha. Friends will be greeted at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.Jerry's passion was to volunteer as a cook in the kitchen for over 35 years at Camp Bird for Lutherans in Marinette County. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in Jerry's memory to Camp Bird for Lutherans, which will provide an opportunity for children to continue to attend and experience summer camp at Camp Bird. His family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all the nurses and staff of Valley VNA in Neenah, and also Hospice Advantage for their excellent and compassionate care of Jerry.
