Joan A. Ritter, age 71, of Oshkosh, was brought into the arms of her first love and Savior, Jesus Christ, on March 25, 2011. She was born and raised in Sturgeon Bay on July 5, 1939, the daughter of Cyril and Katherine (Acker) Navarre. Joan had many passions in live. She loved Jesus Christ, her bible, volunteering, praying and reading with residents at numerous nursing homes. She enjoyed the outdoors, spending time at the family cottage, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Joan was a faithful member of His Church World Outreach Center in Oshkosh.
Joan is loved and will be missed by her husband, Charles F. Ritter of Oshkosh; children, Mike (Shelly) Grovogel of Sturgeon Bay, Sue (Pat) Geniesse of Neenah, Lisa (Gavin) Rolston of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Amber, Rachel, Maria, Joel and Grace; brother, Roger Navarre; step-children, James (Kristi) Ritter of Lakeland, MN, Michael (Lisa) Ritter of Linstrom, MN; step-grandchildren, Ashley, Rachel, Kayla, Tianna, Breanna and Seanna; nephews, Steve, David and Mike Navarre; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Richard.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Monday, March 28, 2011 at His Church World Outreach Center, 2704 Jackson St., Oshkosh, from 3:00 P.M. until the time of the Memorial Service at 5:00 P.M. A memorial in her name has been established.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful people at Century Oaks and Heartland Hospice for taking such good care of Joan.
