John Montgomery Fenno of Antigo, WI, age 87, passed away on May 27, 2026, at Ascension Mercy Hospital in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on April 7, 1939, to parents John C. and Lorraine Fenno in St. Paul, MN.

After high school, John went on to attend college at UW-Milwaukee. He then enlisted in the United States Army Reserve. John was very proud of his service and continued on to serve with the Wauwatosa Fire Department, working his way up to the role of Lieutenant.

On June 6, 1981, he married the love of his life, Kathleen “Kathy” Wagen. They spent 42 years together until her passing in November 2023.

In his free time, he enjoyed fishing with his brother-in-law, Doug or his best friend, Wayne. John also enjoyed snowmobiling and coin collecting. He was an avid Packer and Brewer fan. He also loved to spend time with family and friends and always had an endless supply of stories to tell.

He is survived by his brother, Tom Fenno; sons, Steve Fenno (Jill Ormson) and Bob Fenno (Bobbie); daughter, Cindy Krause; grandson, Jeremy Fenno (Taylor); stepsons, Don Fagan (Betsy) and Brad Fagan (Melanie); and stepdaughter, Suzette Fagan (Dominick). John is also survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as other family and friends.

Preceding him in death were his wife, Kathy Fenno; sister, Nancy Ziemann; stepdaughter, Cheryl Orth; brother-in-law Doug Ziemann; and best friend, Wayne Simpson.
