John "Jack" E. Schein, age 74, of Fond du Lac, died October 25, 2012, at the Fond du Lac Lutheran Home. Jack was born in Oshkosh, on August 22, 1938, the son of the late John and Germaine (Zeibell) Schein. After graduating high school, Jack joined the Army National Guard, and married his late wife Ronaele Malchow. After the Army National Guard, Jack started his career in the fastener business. Jack was a gifted salesman who worked for various companies including his own always selling fasteners as a product.
Jack is best known for his love for his family and friends, a good joke, and a couple of cocktails. Jack and Ronaele traveled throughout the world and had a passion for horses. Later in life they retired to Boulder City, NV. After Ronaele died in 2002, Jack returned to Oshkosh where he met Marge (Freund) Stockstad who he married. Jack and Marge were together for over seven years until Jack's death. The two of them traveled West in the winter, and were always side by side. Lovingly and tearfully Marge was at Jack's bedside until the end.
Those left to mourn Jack's passing are his wife Marge, daughters, Wendy (Todd) Killilea, Sandy Mitchel, son Dean Schein, sister Elissa (James) Schuhart, and son in law Mark Rumlow. Jack also leaves behind his step children; Sandy (Dale) Hermann, Wendy (Mike) Sampson, Patty (Dan) Misevicz, Steve (Mari) Stockstad, Mike (Ellen) Stockstad, and Stacie (Arnie) Wiegert. Jack is further survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, John and Germaine, his first wife, Ronaele, and his oldest daughter Tammy Rumlow.
Visitation will be held at Saint Raphael the Archangel Catholic Church, 830 Westhaven Dr. Oshkosh, on October 31, 2012 from 9:30 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM with Father Dan Felton officiating. Inurnment with full military honors will follow at 1:30 P.M. at Riverside Cemetery, 1901 Algoma Boulevard, Oshkosh.
