Obituary

John Michael Sheldon passed away peacefully after a long battle with COPD on September 28, 2024, with his loving family by his side, born October 28, 1944 to Melvin Sheldon and Lucy Kasper.

After many tries, he finally met the love of his life and married Dian Collins (Radke, Vickery) on February 4, 1989.

John worked for Mercury Marine in the prop department for 37 and a half years. He was an avid Packer fan, who was quite an armchair quarterback. His family enjoyed having stories of his antics from his younger years.

He was blessed with a huge family. Surviving him are his wife, Dian Sheldon; children, Kim (Rick) Rothe of Killeen, TX, Thomas Radke (Chari Kempf) of Oshkosh, Tracey (Craig) Doehling of Athol, ID, Ted Radke (Christy Steinert) of Eagle, WI, James Vickery (Shelly Brittnacker) of Waupaca, WI; John Sheldon II of Janesville, WI; Gary (Nika) Sheldon, Oshkosh, WI. He also had 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was further survived by aunts, uncles and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin Sheldon and Lucy Kasper; stepfather, George Payne Sr.; sister, Susan Sheldon; and grandson Ryan Rothe.

A memorial service will be held at Good Shepard Lutheran Church, 2450 W. 9th Ave. Oshkosh, on Saturday, October 5, 2024, with visitation from 9am to 11am and services beginning at 11am. His final resting place will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Oshkosh, WI.
