Jon Meitzen, of Neenah, was born on November 16th, 1963 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He passed away peacefully on October 29th, 2023, after a long battle with kidney disease and other illness at Edenbrook nursing home in Appleton, WI at the age of 59.

In high school Jon lettered track and throughout the years enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. In 1991, Jon started working at Neenah Foundry, from which he retired in 2020.

Jon had a lot of passions and hobbies through the years: riding his Harley, playing pool, shooting darts, listening to music, watching movies, going to car shows, fishing, and, most of all, hunting. Over the last few years, Jon just enjoyed sitting in the woods and being at peace in nature. He always said it was his happy place. People loved Jon for his sense of humor and the way he could always make someone laugh. Jon will always be loved, never forgotten, and forever missed.

Jon is survived by his daughter, Alexis Meitzen; sons Jamie (Krystal) Meitzen, Jesse (Stacey) Smith, and Taylor (Kayla) Everidge; sister Debra Jozwiak; brother Steve (Angel) Jannusch; aunts Charity Puhl, Carolyn Brendel and Connie Grecco; uncle Rick Miller; nephews and nieces David (Chelsei), Patsy (Jesse), Mykle (Amy), Nick (Jocelyn), Nate, Matt, Collin, Mandy, and Jordan (Jose); great-nephews and nieces, Mabel, Ethan, Lucas, Myles, Alia, Brayden, Payton, Marcellus, and Aurelius; and Grand-children Greyson, Jaxson, Ethan, Alex, Blake, Kyler, and Kane.

Preceding Jon in death were his father, Michael Meitzen; his mother, Sonja Pena; grandparents Marvin and Ginny Meitzen; brother Mike Meitzen; brother in-law Chris Jozwiak; and aunt, Sandra Bull.

The family would like to thank the techs and nurses at Fresenius Appleton and the CNAs and nurses at Bristol Hospice.

A celebration of life will take place on Sunday, November 5th, 2023 from 11:00am to 5:00pm at Willie Beamons, 2590 County Rd II, Neenah, WI 54956.
