Jon Richard Schultz age 15 of Oshkosh, was called Home by God on Wednesday evening November 12, 2003. He was born on May 9, 1988 in Oshkosh the son of Rick and Debbie Cavanaugh Schultz.
Jon was a sophomore at Oshkosh West High School. To say that he was an outdoor enthusiast would be an understatement. He loved hunting: deer, turkey, duck and geese. Since the age of 10, Jon would go to North Dakota every year with his grandfather and uncle hunting ducks and geese. Fishing was another example of his passion for the outdoors. It didn't matter whether it was winter or summer; Jon often times could be found fishing with his dad. When he wasn't with his dad, you could find him fishing with his young niece. Jon had taken a course on trapping and would often engage in the art of taxidermy with his Uncle Rick.
Jon was a 49'er fan, enjoyed baseball and even helped coach a baseball team this past year. Jon was attending Plymouth Congregational Church in Oshkosh, worked at McDonald's and will be remembered by many as a very polite, giving and outgoing young man.
Jon will be greatly missed by his mother, Debbie Cavanaugh, father Rick (Ann) Schultz, his sister Stephanie Eaton, grandparents; Chris (Edward) Terpstra, Richard (Mary) Cavanaugh, Rose (Joseph) Mathe, great grandmother, Mary Cavanaugh, aunts and uncles; Rick (Fay) Cavanaugh, Sherry (Bill) Serafini, William Schultz, Edie (Soren) May, and Tina (Randy) Schuhart, niece; Kimberly Eaton, other relatives and many friends.
Jon's family welcomes your visitation on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at Alberta Kimball Auditorium from 11 a.m. until 2:15 p.m. A Celebration of Jon and Adam's lives will be held at 2:30 p.m., with Rev. Rick Hopkins officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Jon's name.
