Obituary

Joseph Wenzel Matejowec, age 88, passed away on March 30, 2010 at home in Neenah from cancer. He was born on January 29, 1922 in Oshkosh, a son of Joseph and Frances (Jericka) Matejowec of Oshkosh. Joe served his country in the US Coast Guard and the US Navy and married June Dittmer of Oshkosh. June preceded Joe in death in 1985. Joe was a master welder and steam fitter. There was nothing he could not fix or build. Joe was construction lead for E.C. Merrill Inc. and the plant engineer for C E Morgan. Joe taught welding at Fox Valley Technical College for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting fishing, and traveling with friends.Survivors include a daughter Sharon (Gebhardt) of Ripon and a son Donald of Neenah. He is further survived by three grandchildren. He was preceded in death also by a son, Joe, a sister Helen (Kleinschmidt), a bother Jim, and his parents Joseph and Frances.

Per Joe's wishes there will be no visitation or formal funeral services.

A private graveside service with full military honors at Riverside cemetery will be held at a later date.
