Joseph “Joe” J. Seager Sr. , 84, passed away in Appleton, Wisconsin, on June 26, 2026. He was born on November 4, 1941, in Wisconsin, to parents, Fredrick J. Seager and Margaret A. (Kurtz) Seager. Spending the majority of his years in Oshkosh.
Joe worked for many years at Mercury Marine, until his retirement.
On July 16, 1996, he married Jean Geffers. They spent many wonderful years together.
He had a gentle nature and kindness, he was considerate and chose his words carefully; he didn’t waste time speaking at length. Joe was a proud friend of Bill W. for many years. He also was an excellent golfer and loved bowling.
Joseph is survived by his wife, Jean Seager; his sons, Joe Seager Jr., John (Olga) Seager and Jeff (Michelle) Seager; stepsons, Jeffrey Miller and Chris Miller; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and other family.
Service will be held on Friday, July 3, 2026, at 10:00am sharp.
He will be laid to rest inside the mausoleum at Lake View Memorial Park Cemetery in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in his honor.
His request was to share a special quote, “Nothing happens in God’s world by mistake.”
