Joyce Ann Footit, age 80, of Oshkosh, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. She was born in West Port Township, near Madison, WI on June 24, 1937 where she was raised by her grandma. On July 6, 1957 she married William Footit, Jr. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Oshkosh. She worked as a seamstress for Oshkosh B'gosh for about 10 years. She later worked for First National Bank of Oshkosh, and retired from the Oshkosh School System where she was passionate about serving the young children their lunches. In her younger years Joyce enjoyed ceramics, old time movies, and rummage sales. Joyce enjoyed volunteering and could be seen at the Oshkosh Senior Center and at Court Towers. Further, she had a passion for cardinals and baking. Joyce will be remembered for being a very kind, loving and compassionate person. Joyce is survived by her children: Paul (fiancé, Cheri Clark) Footit of Appleton and Sheri (John) Rasmussen of Oshkosh; grandchildren: Kayla Ann Footit and Nicole (fiancé, Mel) Lynn Footit; sisters: Barbara (Butch) Lemke and Linda (Nick) Behling; and brother, Ron (Sue) Holmes. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; parents: Oliver and Mary (Koelbl) Holmes; and brothers: John Holmes and Gary Holmes.There will be a celebration of life at Witzke's Bar, 1700 Oregon St., Oshkosh, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2017.
