Judith "Judy" Ann (Cartwright) Oesterreich
, age 77, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 27, 2025, in Oshkosh, WI. She was born on March 12, 1948, to Ronald and Dorothy (Jury) Cartwright Sr., also of Oshkosh.
On June 26, 1965, Judy married the love of her life, Joseph Oesterreich Sr., in Oshkosh. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised two children. Family was everything to Judy and she cherished being actively involved in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Judy found joy in simple pleasures. She loved running the thrift store, watching her favorite TV shows, and putting together puzzles. She enjoyed traveling to Florida, experimenting with new recipes, and was especially known for her famous cherry fluff. Her warmth and kindness touched everyone she met, and she had a genuine interest in keeping up with family news. Judy also had a special love for her pets and took great delight in babysitting her grand pets.
If you knew Judy, you knew she was a fighter. Diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 1993, she defied the odds through experimental treatments that gifted her family with 32 more precious years. She remained strong and healthy until 2020, when the long-term effects of those treatments began to take their toll. Over the past five years, Judy faced numerous surgeries, tests, and doctor visits with unwavering courage and determination.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 60 years, Joe Sr.; her children, Joe Jr. (Michele) and Melissa (Ryan); and her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
Justin (Terri) and their children, Caleb, Rori, Paisley and Barret,
Jourdain (Jennifer) and their children, Lily, James and Jackson,
Emmanuel (Kiley) and their children, Talen, Lylah and Oakley,
Jherikka (Scott) and their child, Nova,
Jacob (Camille) and their children, Justyce and Serenity.
She is also survived by Gina (Guy), an ex-daughter-in-law whom she truly adored and who remains a cherished part of the family; her siblings, Ronald Jr., Donald and Kathy Griswold; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ronald and Dorothy Cartwright Sr.; and her brother, Michael Cartwright.
