Julia L Holdren

Julia “Julie” L. (Schuhart) Holdren, age 81, passed away on August 4, 2026, in Fond du Lac, WI. She was born on June 25, 1945, to parents, George and Dorothy (Kroll) Schuhart. She was the youngest of five children.
Julie attended Oshkosh High School and then went on to work at Hoffmaster. While at Hoffmaster, she made a lot of friends. Her fondest times at work were when she was talking sassy and smack with her co-workers. She had quite the personality and was quick with the comebacks.
On May 23, 1998, she married the love of her life, James “Jim” “Zed” Holdren. She was his Jules Baby. They spent many wonderful years together until his passing in 2017.
Jim and Julia loved to attend car shows together, go to meat raffles at Retros and frequent Jorgie’s in Both. She was always up for a car ride and a lunch date. She adored her kids and grandchildren and loved spending time with them.
In her free time, she could be found planting flowers and making her yard beautiful. When someone had a plant that wasn’t doing well, she always knew how to fix it with her green thumb. Julia also liked to bake- especially monkey bread, to take to Melissa and Ryan at work, and to host holidays and had an open door for all of Melissa and Ryan’s friends. She was considered “everybody’s Mom,” and that is what all their friends called her.
She is survived by her children, Melissa (Terry) Morey (maiden name- Griswold) and Ryan (Amanda) Holdren; stepdaughter, Jennifer (Todd) Hollenbeck; grandchildren, Hunter Wells, Derek Wells, Brooklyn Holdren, Zoey Holdren and Samantha Morey; step-grandchildren, Christopher (Elizabeth) Holdren, Lydia (Justin) Seehawer and Jordan Hollenbeck; and several other family members and close friends.
Preceding her in death was her husband, James “Jim” “Zed” Holdren; her parents, George and Dorothy (Kroll) Schuhart; brothers, Greg and Roger Schuhart; twin sisters, Sally Kasper and Susie Immel; and sisters-in-law, Joy Holdren, Carol Schuhart and Marilyn Schuhart; and brothers-in-law, Mike Kasper and Sam Immel .
A celebration of life will be planned for spring of 2027. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the place where Julia had gotten her beloved and faithful companions over the years, the Oshkosh Humane Society in her honor.
The family would like to thank Eric Schneider for all the time he donated to keep Julia’s yard beautiful when he came to visit. Additionally, family can’t thank the staff enough at the Frontida Liberty House and SSM Hospice, of Fond du Lac, for the outstanding care they gave her. As well as anybody that has known and helped Julia along her journey.
