Obituary

Julie Ann Schry was granted her angel wings on January 19, 2015, at her home in Oshkosh. Her Christian character was never more plainly displayed that during her time of suffering with cancer. She was never afraid of beginning her new and glorious life in Heaven with her God. Her final days were surrounded by her loving daughter, family, and friends that she had touched their hearts throughout her life. Just as Julie Ann was not alone on her departure to Heaven, she was also not alone on her arrival at birth. Julie Ann was accompanied by her identical twin sister, Ginger Ann, in Wild Rose, Wisconsin, on May 25, 1943, to Arlene (Rose) Rixner and the late Arley Alto. Julie Ann married Norbert Schry on June 20, 1997 in Wautoma, Wisconsin, and he preceded her in death on December 22, 2013. Julie Ann was known for her ease in frequent conversation with everyone, even those that she did not know. She possessed a contagious smile and an entertaining sense of humor. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith. Her signature gift of joy, shown through her never ending smile, laughter, and love of cooking and baking for others, will never be forgotten. Julie Ann took pride in everything she did. While employed at Bethel Home in the early 70's as a lead in housekeeping, she maintained a high standard for the work that was done, resulting in zero discrepancies for 3 years in a row. She later became the manager at Page Jewelers in Oshkosh. The love Julie Ann had for meeting new people led her to selling Mary Kay Cosmetics after Page Jewelers closed. She achieved top sales several times, earning her the pink Cadillac, which she drove with pride. Her last adventure prior to retirement was as a food demonstrator at Festival Foods in Oshkosh. Her passion of cooking and teaching others of new and exciting re3cipes warmed her heart. She was an active member of Oakbrook Evangelical Free Church in Oshkosh and enjoyed meeting frequently with her bible study friends who soon became a second family to her. Survivors include her daughter, Lisa (Mike) Richardson; her twin sister, Ginger Ann (Wayne) Wedde, a sister, Kjordis (Dennis Gratke) Christie, and a brother, Ron Alto; four grandchildren, Kristopher Moore, Brendon Moore, Stephen Schry, and Sara (David) Wirth; two great-grandchildren, Rhiannon and Lucas; and her beautiful God-daughter, Kaelyn Hurst. Julie Ann also became a special part in the lives of Norbert's children, Todd (Aleksandra) Schry, Greg (Penny) Schry, and Michelle Schry; and her sister-in-law, Christine Wittchow. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews, including Tara (Scott) Miller, who spent many days helping with Julie Ann in her final days, and many friends whom loved Julie Ann just as much as she loved them. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the loving care given to Julie Ann from her nurse, Liz, and her wonderful CNA, Kelli, and the rest of the team at Affinity Hospice. Also, a heartfelt thank you, to Deb Bearley and Becky Hallman for your help. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, at 1:30 p.m. in Oakbrook Evangelical Free Church, 3126 W. 20th Ave., Oshkosh. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held at the church from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday.
