Kay Braatz (née Westenberger)

August 26, 1947 – June 20, 2025

Kay Braatz, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, with her devoted husband of 55 years, Ronald Braatz, by her side. She was 78.

Born on August 26, 1947, in New Holstein, Wisconsin, Kay was the beloved daughter of Virginia (Dumke) Westenberger and Walter Westenberger. Her early years were filled with love, laughter, and the strong family values that would guide her throughout her life. She was also a member of St. Jude the Apostle Parish in Oshkosh.

Kay was a woman of great warmth, wisdom, and resilience. She built a life centered on family, kindness, and quiet strength. Together with Ron, she raised three children who were the pride and joy of her life: Melissa "Missy" (Tim) Ziebell, Eric (Heidi) Braatz, and Miranda Braatz.

She was a cherished grandmother to Samantha, Haley, Emily, Tanner, Owen, and Atlas, and a beloved great-grandmother to Emiliano, Messiah, Lillyanna, and Brielle. Her nurturing presence and gentle guidance left a strong influence on all their lives.

Kay was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia (Dumke) Westenberger and Walter Westenberger; and brother, Terry Westenberger, whose memory she held dear.

A private family gathering will be held. In lieu of flowers, a memorial will be established in her honor.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to St. Croix Hospice and Eden Meadows for their compassionate care and support during Kay's final days.

Kay's legacy lives on through the love she gave so freely and the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
