Laura Lea Mills passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on September 7, 2026, following a short but strong and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born in Yuma, Arizona on November 13, 1957, to Lowell and Jeanette Conrad both of whom are preceding her in death.
Laura met the love of her life, Alan Mills in San Diego, California. Together they built a beautiful life and raised two children, Mindy and Mathew. She worked in insurance for many years before eventually moving to Berlin, WI where she retired, found her dream home and beautiful property. It was there that she found so much joy in the simple things – especially sitting on her front porch and watching the birds and butterflies and taking in the beauty around her. Laura’s greatest joy was her family. She loved deeply and gave so much of herself to the people she cared for. She treasured the time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren and great-granddaughter.
Laura is survived by her husband, Alan; children, Mindy (Jake) Shuman and Mathew (Kassie) Mills; siblings, Shari (Tim), Judy (Rodger) and Mark (Tina); sisters-in-law, Linda (Jim) and Joyce (Bob); grandchildren, Audra, Kyleigh, Christian, Mason, Dustin, Haley, Caleb and Maddie; her great-granddaughter, Nathalia; niece and nephew, Steve and Shawna who held a special place in Laura’s heart; and several more nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Laura’s care team at Aurora Medical Center in Oshkosh as well as Stacey with ThedaCare Hospice for the compassion, kindness and care that was provided to Laura on her Journey.
The family will be holding a celebration of life at a later date.
As Laura would say: “Until we meet again, I’ll see you on the other side!”
