Obituary
Laura Jean Unger passed away peacefully on March 17, 2024, at the age of 62. Born March 2, 1962, in Waukesha, WI, she was the first daughter of Carole and Larry Unger.
She grew up in Waterford, where some of her fondest childhood memories were spending long summer days exploring the fields and forests surrounding the family home, and the many trips "up north" snowmobiling.
Laura met Randy Lindgren, the love of her life, in 1980, and became a 'bonus' mom to Randy's daughter, Corrine. In 1982 Laura gave birth to their first child, Theresa. In 1984, they welcomed their second child, "little" Randy. The family lived in Milwaukee until 1993, when they found their new home in Red Granite, where Laura still resided.
She had a passion for little things in life she found beautiful; a sunny day, butterflies, a snow-covered tree, an antique steeped in history, or a song that moved her to tears. Laura loved to cook and was an extremely talented seamstress. She often created beautiful handmade gifts for her family. She was always genuinely and unapologetically herself. Always ready with a quick comeback. She was a simple woman who navigated what life brought her with love and wit.
Predeceased by her husband Randy, sister Leah, and 'bonus' daughter Corrine, Laura's memory will be honored and kept alive by her surviving children Theresa and Randy, siblings Raymond and Paula, sister-in-law Bernice, favorite uncle "Butch", and a loving extended family including special nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial gathering in Laura's honor will be planned by her siblings in the near future.
