Obituary

Lennita "Sue" Leon Bernier, 68, of Oshkosh, Wisconsin, passed away on June 5, 2026, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Oshkosh.
Sue was born on October 24, 1957, in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, Sue remained in Oshkosh, where she and her husband, William "Bill" Bernier, built their life together. Sue had a gift for making everyone feel welcome. Her home was always open to family, friends, neighbors, and anyone who happened to stop by—especially if it was close to 5:00 p.m., because dinner was always on the table.
Family was the center of Sue's life. She enjoyed reading, baking, making candy, and creating cherished traditions that brought loved ones together. She made holidays special with Christmas cookie decorating, family tree decorating, Easter egg hunts, and her famous dirt cake was a birthday tradition for each grandchild. Sue was her grandchildren's biggest supporter, rarely missing a school program, sporting event, or special occasion. She took great pride in their accomplishments, and the memories she created with them will be treasured forever.
Sue dedicated 42 years of service to Bethel Home in Oshkosh. Her strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to helping others earned the respect and friendship of many coworkers throughout the years.
Sue is survived by her husband, William Bernier; her son, Jason (Melanie) Beahm; her stepchildren, Brian (Connie) Bernier and Jennifer (Jarrod) Garritano; her ten beloved grandchildren, Brandyn, Logan and Dawson Beahm; Ally, Evan and Luke Bernier; and Leila, Jarrod, Cole and Emmy Garritano; and her sister, Marcella Berger and brother, Walter Eckstein. She is also survived by her sisters and brothers in law, Mike (Dawn) Bernier, Mary (Leslie) Bernier, Tim (Mary) Bernier, Paul (Jean) Bernier, Rick Bernier, Patty (Steve) Francour and many nieces and nephews.
