Obituary

Leon D. Hoepner, age 69, of Butte des Morts died September 3, 2012, at Aurora Medical Center. Leon was born September 16, 1942, in West Allis, WI. the eldest son of Wilmer and Pearl (Blesener) Hoepner. He graduated from West Allis Central High School in 1960. After graduation, Leon proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1960-1963. He later became a sprinkler fitter with Local 669 and retired at age fifty-five.
Leon enjoyed living on the water where he pursued his passions of fishing and boating. He spent his retirement remodeling the family home, and working as Jane's business partner.
Leon's constant companion at home was Buddy his Chesapeake Bay retriever.
Leon is survived by his wife of thirty two years, Jane, his children: Jessica (John) Lackey, of N. Richland Hills, TX, Heather Johnson, of Fort Worth TX, and Heath (Kim) Hoepner of Liberty Center, Ohio. He is further survived by his brother William (Judy) Hoepner, of Greenfield, WI, and his sisters: Carol (Pete) Ehrmann, of West Allis, WI. and Mary Ann Russell, of West Allis, WI.
Leon was a proud grandfather to: Bailey, Dawson, Hailee, Riley, Morgen, Mayson, and Emmerson. His step grandchildren, and his nieces and nephews will also remember Leon.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
