Obituary

Leroy B. Kation Sr., age 84, passed away in the comfort of his own home, on June 9, 2025, in Oshkosh, WI. He was born on May 28, 1941, to parents. Emanual and Francis (Belkin) Kation, in Chicago, IL. He was born on his own terms, the way he did everything, in a taxi on the Illinois turnpike. Which began his journey and interest in cars; which were the love of his life.

He first married Helen Lemke and later remarried to Sylvia Dolley. They were happily married until her passing in 2007.

He worked at Pluswood Industries his entire working life. In his free time, he enjoyed tinkering on cars. He saw the beauty in all things metal. In fact, he had collected street signs and over his weight in advertising magnets. Leroy also enjoyed watching old western movies and tormenting telemarketers. He was also an avid beer can collector and his entire garage filled with license plates.

He is survived by his son, Leroy "Lee" Kation Jr.; daughter, Peggy Sue Kation. He is further survived by many adored nieces, nephews, many great-nieces and great-nephews, as well as many other relatives and car club friends and good friends.

Preceding him in death were his wives, Helen Kation and Sylvia Kation; Emanual and Francis (Belkin) Kation; brother, Charles Kation; and sister, MaryAnne Hoeft; along with several others.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his honor to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.

The family would like to thank neighbors, Barb, Jim & Mary for their kindness and always looking out for him over the years, and the staff at Compassus Hospice, especially Stacey, for her patience, kindness and grace. She made him smile. A very special thank you to Marcia Dietz, over the years, she proved herself to be what every good Christian strives to be. You are a blessing and will always be remembered as such.
