Louis J. King, age 68, of Pickett formerly of Iron River Michigan, beloved husband and father went home to his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on October 25, 2013. Louis was born on September 5, 1945 the son of the late Glen and Margaret (Jarvis) King. He married Mary L. Winton on October 19, 1963, and they celebrated 50 years of marriage on October 19, 2013. Louis worked for Oshkosh Truck for 22 years and for Meritor for 6 years before poor health caused early retirement.
Louie was a jack of all trades who could be found in the garage tinkering, or sitting in his recliner in the garage watching rainstorms. He also enjoyed hunting, cooking, and baking. Other favorite activities were taking Mary for long car rides and out for dinner. Louis volunteered his time at Wyldewood Baptist Church assisting in the print shop assembling bibles.
Louie will be deeply missed by his wife Mary, children; Tami (Ed) Brayton, Brian (Lori) King, and James (Clarisa) King. Brothers, Theron and Owen King, grandchildren; Daniel (Amanda) Brayton, Ben (Jessica) Brayton, Larissa (Joe) Clayton, Amanda King., Cameron King, and Ashley King, great grandchildren; Morgan, Mabel, Ella, Eli, and soon to arrive baby Ezra Brayton. Louis will be further missed by family and friends.
Louis was preceded in death by his parents, brother Alvin, sister Janice, and his in laws Lester and Norma Winton.
Visitation will be held Tuesday October 29, 2013, at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave. Oshkosh, WI. at 10:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Jason Brenenstuhl officiating.
