Marcella "Marcy" (Novotny) Hale, age 90, passed away on June 19, 2025, in Berlin, WI. She was born to parents, Frank and Hilda (Rates) Novotny on the family farm in Borth, WI. The family moved to Oshkosh when she was in middle school.
She graduated from Oshkosh High School in June 1952. After high school, she worked for the First National Bank for 5 years and then became a mother. Marcy worked at Shopko in the lawn and garden section and did office work as well.
Marcy loved watching and feeding animals, such as birds, squirrels, ducks, rabbits and always had a beloved cat. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, baking, cooking, flower gardening and sewing her own clothes. She was known as being a "Miss Suzie Home Maker."
After retirement at 72, she volunteered at the Salvation Army, joined a quilting club, and sewed for the Teachers Closet- making totes, children's aprons, chair backings and sleeves.
She is survived by her son, Brian (Liz Maier) Hale; daughter, Diane (Jim) Berini; sisters, Kathy Rodencal and Barbara Sobieski, granddaughter, Michelle Hale; close friends, Pat, Leonard and JoAnn; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Frank and Hilda (Rates) Novotny.
Per her wishes, no formal services will be held.
