Merlin F. Koss, age 77, of Oshkosh, passed away at home on Saturday, September 30, 2017. He was born in Mosinee, WI on February 20, 1940 the son of the late Felix and Mabel (Noel) Koss. On February 25, 1961 he married Fritzi Milner. She preceded him in death in 2006. Merlin worked as a welder for 33 years at Leach, retiring in 1993. He enjoyed the outdoors, which included; hunting, camping, snowmobiling and gardening. Being "quite the handyman" was helpful to all who knew him. Merlin will be remembered for his willingness to help others, and for being a gentle man. Merlin is survived by his children: Lori (Patrick) Colburn, Todd (Kathy) Koss and Lisa (Jeffrey) Russell; special friend and partner; June Poad; grandchildren: Felicia (Brandon) Souza, James Vienola and Vanessa Vienola, Nathan (Savannah) Koss, Cody Koss and Stacy (Sean) Hazelwood; Mitchell Russell and Austin Russell; great-grandchildren: Dylan Souza, Libby Koss, Warren Souza and Maci Koss; sisters: Edna, Yvonne, Marie, Annette and Sylvia; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Fritzi; brothers: Roman and Vernon; and sisters, Cedelia and Sylvania.The visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at 2:00 p.m. in Lakeview Memorial Park.
