Myrtle J. Mathison, age 78, peacefully entered the Heavenly Kingdom into the loving arms of Jesus on Monday July 29, 2013. Myrtle was born on July 24, 1935, in San Jose, CA, and graduated from Canoga Park High School in 1953. After high school Myrtle attended Canyonville Bible Academy, and maintained a strong and vocal faith through her life, providing words of comfort and wisdom to her friends and family at every opportunity. Myrtle was a member of Interfaith Christian Assembly, where she played piano and sung on the praise and worship team. She played the piano since childhood and enjoyed sharing the gift God blessed her with. Myrtle devoted her life to her faith, her family, and anyone that was in need. No matter what, Myrtle would be there. Her strength was shown through the many things she endured in her life. Her love for Jesus was an example for all of us. Myrtle worked at Ford Rexall Drug at Valley Fair and the 41 Outdoor Theatre. She was also a consultant for Jafra cosmetics. Myrtle loved being surrounded by family and especially enjoyed the holidays.
She was a fierce competitor playing video games with her grandchildren and loved watching the Green Bay Packers.
Myrtle is survived by her son Archie (Billie), and her four daughters: Cindy (Steven) Asmus, Jean (Doug) Kuenhe, Dawn, and Traci. Also surviving Myrtle are her sisters: Iva Jane (Richard), Vivian (Ben), Violetta (Lonnie), Julie, and her brother David. Myrtle is further survived by numerous grandchildren: Adam (Bridget), Amy (Brian), Erica, Heather, Archie Jr. (Sara), Nancy, Joshua (Lindsey), Tim, Alicia (Joshua), Alexander, Aidan, and several great grandchildren: Jordan, Jacob, Seth, Elizabeth, Kegan, Elijah, Saphira, Arianna, Nicholas, JJ, Tyrese, Nolan, Donovan, Deanna, Megan, and her great great granddaughter, Coreli. Myrtle was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Everett, her sister Nancy, and her parents Violet and Isaac Ignacio.
Visitation will be held on Saturday August 3, 2013, at Interfaith Christian Assembly, 344 Smith St. Neenah, WI, 10:00 am until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 am with Pastor Kenneth Berndt officiating.
Myrtle's family would like to thank the staff at Theda Care at Home for providing aid and support to Myrtle and her family, and Cherry Meadows Hospice for providing Myrtle with comfort in her final days.
No time to cry. Don't shed a tear. I am with God. I am now at peace. I have fought the good fight. I am home.
