Obituary

On May 22, 2025, Nancy Ruth Collier moved from her earthly home into her heavenly mansion. There she was, greeted by Jesus, her Lord and Savior and her beloved Larry, who has been watching and waiting for his sweetheart for 6 years.

Nancy was born in Oshkosh on August 6, 1930, to Ernest and Ruth Friebel.

When Nancy was 15, she went ice skating at Read School, where she saw Larry Collier and told her mom that night that she was going to marry Larry, and she did! On August 31 st , 1946, of that next year at age at 16, they became husband and wife. They raised 6 children and 2 foster daughters together and life was an adventure.

Nancy loved people and for many years, she was the hostess at the First English Lutheran senior meal site. She also volunteered for the residents at Parkview Health Center. She was a huge country music fan and loved traveling around to concerts put on by her favorite artists.

She had a heart of gold and has left a very deep hole in our hearts. She was the strength and rock of her family. She was the hub of the home and kept all things running smoothly. She was a jack of all trades.

In later years, Nancy and Larry were content to sit and hold hands or go for an ice cream cone and ride through Menominee Park. They enjoyed 72 years together.

Surviving are her children, Pat (Bruce) Butkiewicz, Ralph (Nancy) Collier, Lana (Jeff) Whitman, Randy (Colleen) Collier, David (Debra) Collier, Ann (Jerry) Heitman and Trish Kunz. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; as well as many other friends and family.

She is proceeded in death by her husband, Larry; her parents; brothers, David and Ernest Friebel Jr.; sister, Priscilla Friebel; and also, a foster daughter, Mary Lou Morgan.

Nancy's legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her and loved her. Her kindness, laughter and love will echo thru the memories she leaves behind and because of what we believe and know is true and our hope in Jesus, we know that our future with Nancy (Mom), is infinitely longer and greater than our short past with her here on earth.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 2, 2025, from 10:00am to 11:00am, with service to immediately follow, at River of Life Church, 440 W. South Park Ave., Oshkosh, WI.

Special thanks to her hospice team from Aurora and a huge thank you to her in-home aides.
