Norman D. Peters, age 72, of Neenah, died Sunday, September 17, 2017, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Neenah. Born on June 19, 1945, in Berlin, Wisconsin, the son of Lester and Lydia (Paulsen) Peters, Norman attended Wautoma High School. From 1962-1965, Norman served his country with the U.S. Army in the Tank Division as a gunner and was awarded Expert Pistol and Rifle Marksmanship Ribbons. Norman married Jeanette Flegner on April 12, 1975. He loved playing golf, bowling, cribbage, sheepshead, watching the Packers, Brewers, and Bucks. Norman was known for his sharp, quick wit, and "getting together" for breakfasts and a Friday Night Fish Fry were favorite activities. He was employed as a commercial truck driver before his retirement. Survivors include his wife, Jeanette Peters; his children, Noel Peters, Tim (Veronica) Peters, Dennis (Joni) Peters, and Michelle Peters; seven grandchildren; three brothers, Carl (Darlene) Peters, Larry Peters, and Lynn (Deb) Peters; two sisters, Judy Marks and Bonnie Goodnature; two brothers-in-law, James (Linda) Flegner and David (Sally) Flegner; nieces and nephews, especially Duane Flegner, Scott Flegner, and Kristi Robinson. He was preceded in death by two brothers-in-law, Robert Marks and Charlie Goodnature; and a sister-in-law, Julaine Peters. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, at 10:30 a.m. in Mill City Church, 120 N. Lake Street, Neenah, Wisconsin, with Pastor Steve Spence officiating. A time of visiting and sharing of memories will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Military Honors will follow the services at church. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established. The family extends a special thank-you to Pastor Steve Spence; Mill City Church parishioners; Carl and Darlene Peters, and Judy Marks for sitting every day for support; Dr. Budi and 5th floor staff for many hours of care and compassion; Jim Flegner for checking in everyday to be of assistance; and all the friends and family members that stopped by and gave words of encouragement.
