Paul Edward Roberts, age 83, of Oshkosh died August 11, 2012, at Park View Health Center. Paul was born in Oshkosh on October 21, 1928, the son of Jules and Rose (Mueller) Roberts.
Paul was an independent long haul trucker for forty years. He also served in the United States Marine Corps from 1946 to 1950. In his spare time Paul enjoyed fishing, and reading.
Paul is survived by his beloved wife of thirty three years, Susan, his eight children, daughters: Phyllis Roberts of Oshkosh, Sharon (Steve) Docherty, of Oshkosh, Jules (Richard) Betts of Kansas, Megan (Michael) Koth of Omro, and Katherine (Craig Stadler) Kasper of Neenah, sons: Patrick (Mary) Roberts, of Oshkosh, Jamie (Alice) Roberts, of Oshkosh, and Tony (Miliakam) Roberts, of Milwaukee. Paul is further survived by his in-laws; Katherine (Eugene) Splittgerber of Oshkosh, Jayne (Patrick) Frees of Oshkosh, Raymond (Bridget) Lewellyn of Milwaukee, and Audrey Roberts of Oshkosh. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Paul was preceded in death, by his parents, his brothers, Thomas and Gerald, his first wife, Louise, his mother and father in law, Albert and Mary Jane Lewellyn, and brother in law, Thomas Lewellyn.
The family will receive relatives and friends on August 17, 2012, at St. Josphat Church, 1333 Walnut St., Oshkosh from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 6:00 p.m. with Father James Jugenheimer officiating. Inurnment of cremains with full military honors on Monday August 20, 2012, at Calvary Cemetery, Oshkosh, at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established.
The family wishes to express extreme gratitude to the nurses and aides on Lakeside 2 at Park View Health Center for their compassionate care of Paul.
