Rebecca Kay Sikes-Greenwood

October 13, 1968 — June 15, 2026

We are saddened to announce the passing of Rebecca Sikes-Greenwood, 57 years old on June 15th surrounded by her husband and children. She was born on October 13, 1968, to Cherie Smoody (Kolaske) and Jerry Wright.
Her passion for helping others led her to go back to college in her late thirties to become a substance use disorder counselor. After years of dedication, she worked up to becoming a clinical supervisor. After almost 20 years she has impacted so many lives in the recovery community and created a legacy.
Her greatest joy came from being a mom and grandma. She poured her heart into caring for each of us. She never missed a chance to be there, celebrating with us, cheering for us on and comforting us through difficult times. Her selflessness, strength, and unconditional love will continue to guide and inspire us to become the best versions of ourselves.
More than anything she loved spending time with her family and friends. She was happiest with sand between her toes, seeking out new beaches, waterfalls and visiting the ocean. She enjoyed camping every summer with her family, traveling and coffee dates with her best friend, Kristine, going to concerts and races and get togethers with her family.
To know Becky is to know love. She had a beautiful gift of making everyone feel important, loved and seen. She found beauty in ordinary things and made even the small things feel special. Despite hardships she faced, she remained remarkably resilient. You felt comfort in her presence.
She always put others before herself but found joy in caring for and helping others. Those who smile and her heartfelt, contagious laugh. She touched countless lives, leaving an everlasting imprint and her absence will be deeply felt.
She will be forever missed by her husband Terry Greenwood; her children, Zachary Sikes, Cassandra (Robert) Sikes and Candice Sikes; her grandchildren, Kiara Sikes, Hollis Sikes, Charlie Dream-Fredrick and Emma Sikes; parents, Cherie and David Smoody and Jerry Wright (Sandy). Her siblings, Jeff Wright, Brad (Dottie) Wright, Brent Wright, Darcy (Ryan) Michalkiewicz and Randy Smoody; all of her nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Along with many extended family members and friends who were blessed to know her.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Louise and William Kolaske; Ruth and Robert Wright; aunts, Karen Nagler and Kay Connors; uncles, Dennis, Jim, Bill, and Eugene Wright; and her best friend, Jodee Thompson.
Her funeral services will be held at River Valley Church on June 27, 2026, with visitation from 10am to 12pm and ceremony to begin at 12pm and a potluck to follow, please bring a dish to pass if you are able.
