Richard B. Burns, age 85, passed away Tuesday February 5, 2018 at The Meadows of Fond du Lac with his family by his side. He was born on January 22, 1933 in Marinette, WI to George & Alice (O'Clair) Burns. On November 11, 1960 he married the love of his life, Marie and they were blessed with 57 years of marriage.
Richard worked at Goodfellows, Amvets Club, Eagle Star and Lloyd Manufacturing, he also enjoyed being a bartender. In his leisure time he enjoyed camping with his family, (having spent over 20 years doing so at the Moose Lodge), working in his garden which was his pride and joy and monthly trips to the casino.
Mr. Burns was a Korean War Veteran having served in the Army and was a member of the Moose Lodge.
Survivors include his Wife Marie, three sons; Tim and George "Bud" (Bonita) Burns of Oshkosh and Scott Burns of Manistique, MI., one brother Bill; two sisters Marge Ahearn and Barbara Larson; ten grandchildren, Jacob, Bryan, Christopher, Matt, Mike, Brett, Spencer, Kyle, Brooke and Jaclyn; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Carol Rabideau, Lorraine (Vic) Hatcher and Marge Burns; one brother-in-law Tom Petersen.
Per Mr. Burns' wishes there will only be a private family service. Entombment will be at the Forest Home Mausoleum in Marinette, WI.
