Richard "Dick" M. Duffy, born March 6, 1928, to Walter and Kathryn (Gibson) Duffy in Oshkosh. Richard passed away peacefully on October 15, 2025, with family at his side at the age of 97, in hospice care at CopperStone Assisted Living after a short illness.
Richard married Edith Tice in 1947, and they celebrated their 73
rd
anniversary in 2020. He worked as a machinist at Axel Co. and later did service work across the United States for Rockwell International until his retirement in 1983. In 1968, he built the home where he spent his remaining years, living there independently after Edith's passing in 2021.
A passionate sports fan, Richard enjoyed hunting, skeet and trap shooting, fishing, golf and gardening. He played on local baseball and basketball teams throughout the 1950s and cheered enthusiastically for the Packers and Badgers.
His children are especially grateful for the loving care he provided for their mother in her final years.
Richard is survived by his three sons, Shawn (Steve) of Mequon, Robin (Patti) and Darin (Laurie) both of Oshkosh; along with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edith; daughter, Karen; and siblings, Robert, Patricia, and Shirley.
Following Richard's wishes, no formal service will be held.
