It is with heavy hearts that we tell you the passing of our beloved father, Richard A. Hagen, who left us peacefully on May 24, 2024, at the age of 95. Richard was known for his kindness, love, creativity and boundless care.
Dick was born in Madison

WI on October 2, 1928
.
He enlisted in the Army and after the war he enrolled in drafting school in Chicago. He then returned to Madison, where he met his future wife, Janet. They celebrated 68 years until her passing in 2020
.
Dick's career in construction/sales culminated with his retirement from Neenah Foundry as the General Sales Manager. Throughout his career, Dick would come back to his love of architecture and drafting. Dick designed and built several houses all in the style of his beloved architect

Dick loved jazz

and even hosted a jazz radio show.
Dick is survived by his two children, Diana (Jay) Erfurth and Kris (Al) Grasley; grandchildren, Scott (Dawn)

Katie (Steve), Alex (Gina Ponce); great-grandchildren
,
Ben and Dylan; brother
,
Andy (Barb). He was preceded in death by his wife, Jan, his parents, brother, Paul (Janice) and a sister, Nancy.
The family wishes to thank the incredible staff at Howard Young Medical Center in Woodruff, WI who provided compassionate care not only to Dick, but to all his family members. The family also wants to thank the wonderful staff at Valley VNA. Dick enjoyed his Valley VNA family, including the residents with whom he formed great friendships.
As per Dick's wishes, there will be no funeral or visitation. His family will hold a private celebration of life and would ask for any memorials
