Obituary

Richard J. Hinn, age 71, passed away from congestive heart failure at Mercy Medical Center on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Richard was born on May 13, 1945 the son of the late Roy and Letha (Hildebrandt) Hinn in Neenah. On April 17, 1970 he married Robin DeVoid in Las Vegas. After Richard graduated from Oshkosh High School in 1963, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a Master Sergeant during Vietnam. He was one of the best plumbing contractors in both Southern California and Oshkosh, Wisconsin. He enjoyed his family, boating, fishing, cooking, Packer games, and shooting pool in league for Frank's Place. Richard is survived by his wife of 47 years, Robin; daughters: Laurie (Mark) Bouvier of Apache Junction, AZ, Lynne Hinn of Oshkosh, Lea (Al) Greer of Oshkosh, Lanai (Art) McCullough of Torrance, CA and Lana (Brandon) Owen of Oshkosh; 14 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brother, Roy (Karen) Hinn; sister, Nancy Berger; sister-in-law, Jane Rawson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Letha; sister, Shirley (Roger) Lamore; brother: Gary Hinn; niece, Shelly Grunske; nephew, Mike Berger; and brothers-in-law, Roger Lamore and Steve Berger.The memorial service followed by military honors will be at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at OakBrook Evangelical Free Church, 312 W. 20th Ave., Oshkosh. Friends will be received at the church on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the service.In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
