Richard Evan Jones, age 71, of Winneconne, passed away at home on Friday, November 18, 2016. He was born in Neenah on April 29, 1945 the son of the late Harold and Helen (Schumann) Jones. Richard graduated from Neenah High School in 1963. After high school he worked for Bergstrom Paper Co. In 1965 he joined the National Guard. He retired from Kimberly Clark after thirty years. Since retiring, Richard worked for Bergstrom Automotive in Oshkosh and Appleton Automotive in Appleton. He loved outdoor activities which included: boating, fishing, camping and especially snowmobiling. He was always working in the neighborhood and having rummage sales. His neighborhood friends called him the "King of Craig's List." Richard is survived by his sons: Jeffrey (Valerie) Jones of Oklahoma and Chad (Jennifer) Jones of Wisconsin; five grandchildren; brothers: James (Jacqueline) Jones, Robert (special friend, Lynn) Jones and Thomas (Kathi) Jones, all of Neenah; Step-brother, Howard (Shirley) Hess of Omro; and step-sister, Nancy (Fred) Brewer of Berlin. He is further survived by many nieces and nephews, and many special neighbors that he enjoyed spending time with and a furry companion, Copper. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Jenney (Hess) Jones; and sister-in-law, Arlene (Sievert) Jones. A visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 200 N. Commercial St., Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Richard's name is being established. We would like to thank the staff at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Home, ThedaCare Hospice and Visiting Angels for their compassionate care over the last six months.
