Richard (Rick) M. Lane, age 62, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Rick was born April 18, 1955, in Oshkosh, to the late Richard and Dorothy (Blackwell) Lane. Rick was a 1973 graduate of Omro High School and worked at Leach Co. for over 20 years. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping. Other hobbies included watching sports, playing softball, dancing and listening to live music, telling stories and cooking for his family. Above all else he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Rick had a good day if he brought a smile to everyone's face he encountered. His favorite way to do this was by handing out candy, earning him the nickname "The Candy Man". He truly was one of a kind and will be deeply missed by all.Rick is loved and will be missed by his children, Crystal (Kraig) Kasuboski, Tami Lane and Michael Lane; grandchildren, Evie, Gavin, Daelyn and Fletcher; sister, Karen (Jim) Hruska; and dear friend and mother of his children, Jo; and many other relatives and friends. A celebration of Rick's life will be held at Menominee Park at the Kiwanis Shelter #1 on Saturday, September 30th from 11am – 5pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial is being established.Rick's children would like to thank the entire staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital, especially Dr. Leonard for treating them all as family and for providing their dad with such gentle and loving care.
