Obituary

Richard L. Schultz, (Dic) age 76, of Pickett, died Wednesday, December 14, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Dic was born December 21, 1934, in Iowa, the son of Clarence and Louise (Witt) Schultz. Dic proudly served in the United States Navy. After the service, Dic went to Layton Art School in Milwaukee and had various commercial artist jobs including Mercury Marine and Geer Murray and then decided to start his own Graphic Art Studio called DIC – Design, Innovation and Concepts and retired from this in 2010.

Dic's greatest passion was hunting and fishing and owned a private game farm in Pickett where he trained hunting dogs, guided hunting trips on the property and fished in his ponds as much as possible. His love of the outdoors and being self-employed allowed him to be able to go on hunting and fishing trips all over the United States. He had many hunting dogs over the years that he loved and spent many wonderful hours with but his very favorite dog was Heidi, a beautiful black lab.

Dic is survived by his wife of 55 years, Verma; children, Mark D. (Michelle) Schultz and their children, Dion (Nicole), Bryant (Gina) and Isaac (Alyssa); Cindy M. (JR) Robinson and their children, Vanessa (Mike), Melanie (Joe) and Tanna ( Chris ); Vicky L. Schroeder step children Samuel and Hollie (fiancé Cody) and Eric (Ann) Schultz and their daughters, Samantha, Brittany and Chelsea; great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, brother and sister in law, James and Jewel Dunn, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Private family services are being held at the funeral home. A memorial in Dic's name is being established.

The family would like to thank Omro Care Center and the ICU Staff at Mercy Medical Center for the exceptional care given Dic this past year.
