Obituary
Ricky D. Rates, 70, passed away in Oshkosh, WI on July 19, 2024. He was born on December 7, 1953 to Louis and Garnet (McCue) Rates.
Rick enjoyed going hunting, fishing, camping, boating, ATV riding and generally spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Las Vegas and Nashville. Rick was a handyman, and loved to woodwork, he even remodeled the home kitchen for Cindy and himself.
He will be remembered for his kindness, helpfulness and his love of family.
Rick is survived by his wife, Cindy Rates; children, Chris Rates and Kelly Rates; and grandchildren, Alyssa and Connor. He is further survived by his best friend, Mark Hoppe; sidekicks, Rick "Too Tall" Osborn, Kevin Livernash, Mark Grochek and Dave Nickel; beloved dog, Macee; grand-dog Pieper; as well as many other cousins and other family.
Preceding him in death, his parents, Louis and Garnet; and sister, Sandy (Jerry) Hannis.
Per his wishes, no formal services will be held and cremation will take place.
