Obituary

Robert R. Hart, age 82 of Oshkosh, passed away Monday February 16, 2009 at Park View Health Center with his loving family by his side. Robert was born in Omro on November 9, 1926 the son of the late Marland and Rose Tallier Hart. Robert was a Seaman First Class Cook in the United States Navy, who proudly served his country during World War II in the Pacific. He married Betty J. Wachholz at Grace Lutheran Church in Oshkosh on August 22, 1947. Robert worked as a bottler for the Oshkosh Brewing Company for 38 years, and also worked at Peoples Brewery, later working as a custodian at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and School and finally retiring in 1988 while he was at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church. In his earlier years, he was an Assistant Scout Master with the Boy Scouts, enjoyed bowling, playing cards with his friends, fishing, boating, was a member of the American Legion and the 40/8 and both Robert and his wife Betty enjoyed volunteering at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church serving as ushers, greeters and helping with the church bulletins. Robert is survived by his wife of 61 years Betty, two sons; Rick Hart of Oshkosh and Dave (Wendy) Hart of McFarlane, WI, one grandchild; Kimberly Shatswell Hart of Madison, one step-grandchild; Keli Ray, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Memorial Service for Robert will be held on Friday February 20, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Lake View Memorial Park Chapel with Rev. Ted Johanson officiating. Family and friends may gather at the chapel from 12:00 p.m. until time of services. Inurnment will follow the service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established in Robert's name. A special thank you to the doctors and staff of Aurora Medical Center and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Center, and the staff of Comfort Care at Park View Health Center for all their wonderful care that was given to Robert and his family.
