I am announcing the passing of Robert J. Volkmann, Sr., aged 69, of Oshkosh, WI, who left us on December 18, 2025. As the poet Chris Cornell said, people die alone.
Robert J. Volkmann, Sr. was born on June 29, 1956, in Milwaukee, WI to Herman and Geraldine Volkmann.
While I haven’t spoken to Bob in approximately 2 years, he was still my father, and I will miss having a dad.
Bob is survived by me, his daughter Brianna (Michael), his grandson Hendrix, and his beloved canine Niko and preceded in death by his son Robby and his canines Laylah, Holly, Izzy, and Nemo.
Bob will be remembered for his fishing and duck hunting skills. Bob also volunteered several days a week at the Oshkosh Area Community Pantry.
A memorial service will be held in the spring at Wendt’s on the Lake. Details will be shared at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wisconsin Humane Society.
