Rodney "Rod" Joseph Smith, age 47, of Oshkosh, passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at his home after a short battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends. He was born on September 6, 1963 at the St. Joseph Hospital in Belvedere, IL, to James Allen and Genela May (Frasier) Smith. Rod enjoyed fishing, watching Sci-Fi, working on cars, spending time with his family and drinking.

His memory will forever be cherished by Cinda (Cin) Smith; two daughters, Melissa (Justin) Campfield of Westby, WI., Angela (Kurtis) Davidson of Neenah, WI; six grandchildren, Dillon (DJ), Kristen (Scooter), Brianna (Boogers), Ravyn (RJ), Ryan (Bubba) and Courtnie (Allowishious); one son, Christopher Joseph Smith; four sisters; two brothers; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and brother (Tim). He will be cremated and burial will be held at a later date, per his request. No services will be held at this time; instead he wanted his family and friends to celebrate his life. Special thanks to the nurses, nursing assistants and the Michael D. Wachtel Cancer Care Center who all helped with his care.

Rod, we will miss you and love you always. You were a great husband, father and grandfather. Rest peacefully. We WILL see you again.
