Royce Knight, age 87, passed away at his home with family by his side on March 28, 2025.
He was born June 20, 1937, in Lindale, Texas, the son of the late Henry Edmond and Vera (Conaway) Knight. He graduated from Manuel High School in Denver, Colorado in 1956, after which he proudly served in the U.S. Coast Guard for four years.
Royce married Ann Scott in 1961 and graduated from Texas Technological University. He enjoyed his career with American Can and James River Corporation as manager of Capital Procurement for thirty-three years.
Royce had a deep Christian faith, and he was a member of Oakhaven Church of Christ in Oshkosh for 47 years. During the late 70's, Royce helped with the renovation of the old dairy barn into the current Church building on Witzel Ave.
Royce enjoyed being with people, and anyone who knew him always commented on how much they enjoyed his company. He loved telling stories and had a quick-witted humor that would "make a tadpole slap a whale."
He is survived by his wife, Ann Knight; son, Stuart (Michelle) Knight of Oshkosh; daughter, Karrie (Jim) Brass of Little Chute, WI; grandchildren, Crystal (Taliesin) Brass, Andrew Brass, Michaela (Micah) Friesen and Daniel Brass; brother, Thomas (Dora Ann) Knight of Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Lela Knight of Wichita Falls, Texas; and also brother, Stuart (Merle) Knight of Lubbock, Texas.
One of his favorite areas is the rolling hills of Henderson, Tennessee. He will be buried in Chester County Memory Gardens.
A small private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Heart Association in his honor.
