Obituary

On Sunday September 24, 2017, kind and gentle angels surrounded us as they came to take home one of their own. Ruby Theresa Doberstein, 90, with her loving family by her side, left this life to join her heavenly Father. She was born on October 9, 1926 to William and Ella Lasee.February 1947 she wed Lee Joseph Doberstein. They were married 66 years and together they created a family. And what a family it is! Ten children, eighteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband Lee, daughter Patty, four brothers, one sister and son-in-law Pat Jones. She is survived by Sandy (Bob) Bessette, Mary (Mike) Strycker, Nancy (Bob) Schoenberger, Edward "Ted" (Karene Powers) Doberstein, Jim (Kathy) Doberstein, and Tim (Cheryl) Doberstein, all of Oshkosh. She is further survived by Bob (Joean Lankford) Doberstein of Centennial, WY, Jeanie Jones, Joanie (Mike) Rohrs of California, her grandchildren, great grandchildren and many honorary Doberstein children.Ruby was kindness incarnate. Her compassion extended far and wide. She was a gentle, patient, practical woman with a wonderful sense of humor.The family extends sincere gratitude to the Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice Team for their kind and respectful care of Ruby.A funeral mass celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Most Blessed Sacrament Parish, St. Peter site, 449 High Avenue, Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Visitation for family and friends will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Most Blessed Sacrament Parish or Affinity Visiting Nurses Hospice, both of Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
