Obituary

Sharon Carrie Kropp Zimmerman

On January 9, 2026, Sharon, age 75, was peacefully and gently taken home to be with the Lord.

Sharon was born on April 17, 1950, in Ripon, WI, to Albert Clarence and Carrie Sophia (Penke) Kropp.

Sharon attended Ripon area schools. Later in life, she obtained her GED and went on to receive her Child Care Certification.

On September 30, 1967, Sharon married David Zimmerman, the love of her life. She became a military wife and homemaker while living in Hawaii to be near David. They lived in the Ripon/ Pickett area most of their lives and eventually settled in Oshkosh. Including her beloved dogs and cats.

As manager of housekeeping for a local chain hotel, Sharon received many awards and recognition for excellence service. Her home reflected that same standard of living. Being with children was the highlight of Sharon’s life. She loved teaching in private pre-school and being with the daycare children.

When there was time for fun, they loved being on the open road, especially going to Sturgis and other motorcycle rallies. Camping with the Lighthouse Beacon Group was another enjoyable activity. Occasionally Sharon and her sister, Ruby would take a day trip to the casino.

Survivors include her sister, Jane (Bill) Nowicki and her children, Terri (Tom) Kramer, Mike (significant other, Jackie) and Dan (significant other, Caudette); nephews, Christopher (Constance) Kropp, Brian Kropp (Ginny) and David Zimmerman; niece, Lisa Sprague; great-nieces and nephews; plus, great-great-nephews.

Welcoming Sharon at Heaven’s Gate are her parents; sister, Ruby Wahowske; and her beloved David.

A service for Sharon will be held at 11:00am on Friday, January 16, 2026. Held at 3026 Jackson St, Oshkosh, WI. Fox Cities Funeral and Cremation Services is assisting the family.

Sharon will be laid to rest, next to David at a private graveside service.
