Obituary
Criss (Sigrid) Cornell Bean, age 83, of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Born on February 26, 1942, in Wichita, Kansas, to the late Lee H. Cornell and Gunda Lee Cornell. Criss was a woman defined by her class, elegance, grace, and kindness.
Criss began her professional life as a flight attendant for Trans World Airlines (TWA), a role perfectly suited to her natural poise. She later dedicated herself to being a faithful Army wife, proudly serving our country in support of her husband's military career. Her dedication led her family all over the United States and to Germany, before she and her husband, Roger K. Bean, with whom she shared 42 years of marriage before his passing, eventually settled down and retired in Fond du Lac.
In her spare time, Criss served in her church and community and loved any opportunity to demonstrate her gift of hospitality through entertaining family and friends. A woman of deep faith, she was an active and cherished member of The Cathedral Church of St. Paul the Apostle in Fond du Lac.
Criss was a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a sister. She is survived by her two loving daughters: Shannon Bean and Sarah (Bean) Brady (Jeff) and by her grandchildren, Eric Olson (Haley), Tim Olson, Ryan Brady and Lulu Brady. She is also survived by her brothers, Jon Cornell and Steve Cornell.
Criss will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her memory will be cherished and kept alive through the kindness she showed, the grace with which she lived, and the many lives she touched.
Service Details
Criss will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband with burial at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington D.C.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Cathedral Church of St. Paul the Apostle, Fond du Lac.
