Sylvia A. Kation, age 72, of Oshkosh, died peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family on Friday evening, June 8, 2007. She was born November 11, 1934 in Oshkosh, the daughter of Albert and Blanche (Dunn) Dolley. Sylvia enjoyed spending her free time watching QVC, crocheting and doing needlepoint. She had worked at Mercy Medical Center for over 30 years and was a loyal and faithful member of Wyldewood Baptist Church.
Sylvia is loved and will be missed by her husband, LeRoy; son, James L. (Diane) Ludwig, Sr. of Omro; step-son, LeRoy B."Lee" (Sheila) Kation, Jr. of Oshkosh; step-daughter, Peggy Sue Kation of Oshkosh; grandchildren, Kristina Ludwig and James Ludwig, Jr; great grandchildren, Emma Ludwig, Cody Fouts, Merek Ludwig and Cory Ludwig; sisters, Janette (Thomas) Thelen of Fond du Lac and Carol (Phillip) Cory of Illinois; and brother, David (Kathi) Dolley of Omro. Other survivors include many nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends. Sylvia was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Phyllis Ayed; brother, Albert Dolley, Jr; brother in law, Charles Kation; and sister in law, Maryann Hoeft.
Visitation will be held on Monday, June 11, 2007 at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. and then again on Tuesday, June 12, 2007 at Wyldewood Baptist Church, 3030 Witzel Ave., from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral service at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Randall King officiating. Burial will follow in Lake View Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Affinity Hospice and staff, especially Clarice, Mary, Barb, Ellen and all the wonderful staff for the exceptional care given to Sylvia and the rest of the family.
