Obituary

Thomas R. Grobe, age 60, of Oshkosh, passed away unexpectedly on October 11, 2011. Tom was born in Kenosha, WI, on November 5, 1950, to Reynold and Rosemary (Kreuser) Grobe. He married Vicki Koch on August 29, 1970.

Tom was a machinist for 40 years, working at Oshkosh Truck, Kingsbury and Oshkosh Marine Supply until his retirement in 2010. In his younger years, Tom was active in sports, enjoying softball and bowling with his friends and co-workers. He was a true blue Brewers fan, and a die hard Packer fan as well. Tom loved classic cars and attended auto shows often. Next to Vicki one of his greatest loves was his 1967 GTO.

Over the years Tom enjoyed watching and supporitng his sons and grandson as they played sports and was active in the local boy scout troop. Tom was a handy man on call, always willing to help family or friends however he could.

Tom is survived by his wife, Vicki; his sons, Darin (Laurie) of Long Beach, CA, Chad (Nadene) of Oshkosh and Cory of Oshkosh; his grandson, Tyler of Appleton; sisters, Shirley (Leo) Schmude of Oshkosh; Lois (Dan) Schuh of Van Dyne and Pat (Robert) Haas of Janesville; brother-in-law, Jim (DeeAnn) Koch of Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Debra Koch of Oshkosh; siter-in-law Barb Koch of Stevens Point; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, John Koch.

Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. Tom will be laid to rest at Lake View Memorial Park. A memorial is being established.
