Obituary

Peppler, Verna Jean (Dorow)

Verna Jean Peppler (Dorow) went to be with her Savior early Saturday morning resulting from long term health issues. She passed away peacefully at Cherry Meadows Hospice Home in Appleton WI. Going by Jean for most of her life, she was born on February 6, 1943, in Oshkosh WI., to parents, Gordon and Beatrice Dorow who both preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were sisters, Judy Dorow and Darlene Draves (Dorow).

Having recently celebrated 54 years of marriage, Jean became the wife of James Edward Peppler on June 25, 1960, marrying at Zion Lutheran Church in Oshkosh, and continuing to reside in Oshkosh. Jean and James raised 4 children who all live in Wisconsin, and Jean and James would call Oakbrook Church in Oshkosh their church home in recent years.

Jean attended both Merrill Elementary and Middle School as a child, and later would attend Oshkosh High School. For most of her adult life Jean worked in the area of health care spending many years as a nurse's aide, and 25 years as a Central Supply Technician at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh. Jean was a woman of deep faith and trust in the assurance of eternal life in heaven. In later years she enjoyed listening to her favorite Christian radio station, as well as watching and reading about faith related issues. She loved local history and learning about it, and she loved to make her surroundings look nice with flowers and things. Most of all, she treasured and loved her family.

Jean is survived by her husband, James in Oshkosh; son, Daniel (Shirley) Peppler and grandchildren, Kevin and Brian; son, David (Kathleen) Peppler and grandchildren, Morgan, Lucas and Rachel; son, Steven (Tami) Peppler and grandchildren, Christopher James, Amanda, Stephanie and Marissa; and daughter, Cindy (Richard) Voelkel and grandchildren, Caitlyn (Marty) and Amber. Jean also has a surviving brother and sister, Russell Dorow, and Janet Fischer.

An expression of thanks is extended to Mary François and Dr. Cornwell of the University Hospital in Madison WI., for their uplifting support and efforts toward Jeans health needs. A memorial service will be held for Jean at the Lakeview Chapel in Lakeview Memorial Park on 2786 Algoma Street in Oshkosh WI. on Thursday August 7, 2014. Visitation will be from 11 to noon with the service to follow at noon. Cards and condolences will be accepted at the service, as well as to James Peppler at 1329 Indigo Drive, Oshkosh, WI 54902.
