Vernon H. Holman, age 67, of Oshkosh, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at his home. Vern was born July 15, 1936 in Sterling, Illinois. He was raised by Clarence and Maxine Apple. He served in the US Army. Vern was a very handy man, and could fix just about anything. He enjoyed doing jobs such as managing mobile home parks and any kind of maintenance job to keep him busy. He loved fishing, hunting, snowmobiling, gardening and collecting model trains, cars and mugs. He will best be remembered for his happy teasing and joking with friends.
Vern is survived by his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" of Oshkosh; his stepchildren, Laurie Cantrell of Florida, Julie (Doug) Buckman of Florida, Jeff Funderburgh of Illinois, and Ricky Funderburgh of Illinois; his brother Charles of Florida; step grandchildren, Anna, Ashley, Erica, great grandchildren Emily and Austin, special friends, Norm & Donna Boch, Dave & Mary Werner and Tom & Diana Artz, his dog Buddy, other relatives and many friends.
There will be a gathering time on Friday, July 9, 2004 from 9 to 10 a.m. at the Gazebo in Menominee Park in Oshkosh, with a Memorial Service to follow at 10 a.m. with Rev. Terry Banker officiating. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is being established.
