Vernon S. Smith, age 46, of Oshkosh, passed away peacefully at his home on August 4, 2005. He was born on September 30, 1958 to Vernon G. and Frances Smith in Ohio, where he lived most of his life. He moved to Oshkosh in 2003. Vernon enjoyed fishing and was a talented artist.

Vernon is survived and will be missed by the love of his life, Chris Cuevas of Oshkosh; his children, Michelle Renee Smith and Steven Daniel Smith; his step children, Ricardo Cuevas and Jessica Cuevas; three grandchildren; his mother, Frances (Charles) Lutes; his brother Mark (Kathy) Smith; other relatives and many friends.

A private family prayer service was held to honor Vernon's life.
