Viola G. Kumbera, age 81, of Oshkosh, formerly of Milwaukee, died late Friday evening May 6, 2005 at Mercy Medical Center. Viola was born September 14, 1923 in Stanley, Wisconsin the daughter of Alex and Rosetta (Smasl) Soeller. She was educated in the Thorp School system and was a graduate of Thorp High School. She married Joseph Kumbera, Sr. in April of 1946. Viola enjoyed traveling, dining out and celebrations with her family. She had worked as a waitress at Pap's Restaurant in Milwaukee for 30 years before moving to Oshkosh. Viola was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Oshkosh.
Viola is loved and will be missed by her children, Sharon (Ray) Hug of Oshkosh and Joseph (Susan) Kumbera, Jr. of Vienna, Virginia, grandchildren, Sandra (Brady) Myers of Lake Worth, Fl., Jon Kumbera of Surprise, Az., Cynthia (Brian) Roeber of Hartford, WI., Robert Hug of Oshkosh, Sandhya and Jyoti Kumbera both of Vienna, Virginia, great granddaughter, Kaylee Myers of Lake Worth, Fl., her sister, Dorothy Geisler of Greenwood, WI., other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, son Roger Kumbera and brother Robert Soeller.
The family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, May 10, 2005 at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 830 S. Westhaven Dr., Oshkosh from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Mass at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Doug LeCaptain officiating. A memorial will be established in her name. The family would like to thank the staff of Omro Care Center for the care given to Viola.
