Willard W. Janke, age 87, of Oshkosh, died peacefully at home on Sunday, March 8, 2009. Willard was born on March 23, 1921, in Oshkosh, the son of William and Martha (Neunfeldt) Janke. After graduating from High School in Oshkosh, Willard went on and served his country during WWII in the U.S. Coast Guard. When he returned from the service, he attended and graduated from UW Madison. He married June Doemel in Oshkosh on her birthday, on April 14, 1950. Willard had worked and retired as plant manager/accountant from H.D. Hudson Co. In his spare time, he flew pigeons and enjoyed ice fishing.
Willard is survived by his wife, June; sons, David (Lori) of Redgranite and Andrew of Oshkosh; grandchildren, William, Tina and James; sisters, Elaine Janke of Oshkosh and Carol (Frank) Patterson of Boise, Idaho. He is further survived by a niece, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and friends. Willard was preceded in death by his parents, and his son, Russell.
Private family services were held at the funeral home.
