Obituary
William Albert "Bill" Wiegand Jr., age 79, was born to eternal life on February 15, 2024. He has joined in death his beloved wife Pauline Wiegand, after 14 years of missing her.
Bill was a veteran, having served in the Air Force for four years. He attended Caroll College and then began working for the Social Security Administration and worked there until his retirement in 1999.
He enjoyed the lake, fishing, being on his boat, as well as spending his days with his best friend – his Golden Retriever, Abby. He also enjoyed woodworking and was an avid reader.
Bill is survived by his children, William H Wiegand and Virginia M Schmidt; his grandchildren, William M Wiegand, Robert L Schmidt IV, and Kaitlin M. Schmidt; and great-grandchildren, Elija A Wiegand and Pauline R Wiegand. He is also survived by his brother, James Wiegand; sister, Bonnie Puetzer; and several nieces; and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Wiegand; his parents, Virginia M Wiegand and William A Wiegand, and sister, Jean Harrison.
We want to say thank you to his friends at Wendt's for the time he enjoyed with you. We also want to say a special thank you to the staff at Aurora Medical Center and Aurora At Home Hospice for the wonderful and compassionate care that they all gave him.
The family will be having a private Celebration of Life at a future date.
